It was great to see a copy of this in the local bookshop over the weekend. “The History of Britain in 21 Women” by Jenni Murray. I produced a portrait for each of the women of which a few were chosen and nicely embossed on the cover. I’ll get a full set up in my site soon. Thanks to #jennimurray James and @oneworldpublications #thehistoryofbritainin21women
Seemed an appropriate image to post after the events today in #leTour #tdf #TourDeFrance #crash #TDF2015
Copies of these postcards are currently passing through our postal service and onto the desks of art directors across the country. I have a few left so if anybody wants one or a set drop me a message or email me hello[at]whatwouldpeterdo.co.uk #illustrator #postcards #promo #selfpromotion
Working from home for the month while I prep for a move. First bit of work in progress in the temp set up. The possibility of coffee (read as beer) in the garden is very distracting.
I took some time on Saturday morning to take another, less hectic, visit to the splendid Wall of Wally exhibition at Material Gallery.
I really must stress my thanks to Jamin Galea for including me in this group show. I worked on my portrait during some down time between two regular commissions. For me it was a nice chance for me to loosen up my arm a bit and pay a small gesture of respect to a design legend. I didn’t anticipate that, due to others hard work, it would become something I am very proud to have been part of.
There were some fantastic illustrators and designers contributing work. Collected on the walls of the gallery they were a real visual treat. Off the top of my (Monday morning) head my standouts from the show were Kate Copeland, Kenn Goodall and Claudio Naccari
Keep an eye on the WOW site for future print runs of the book and more portrait contributions from illustrators that I believe are still coming in.
Finally, thanks again to Jamin and everyone else who helped out and supported this project.
Really looking forward to the Wall of Wally exhibition opening tonight down at MATERIAL book shop in Shoreditch. You’ll be able to see a copy of the fantastic book produced as part of the project along side a whole collection of prints and original portraits produced, including mine.
You can find the full details here
Thanks again to Jamin for all his hard work and everyone who has supported this project. Hopefully I will meet some of you this evening.
Another quick portrait from this morning. I snapped this at this stage because I really liked it. Inevitably I went on to over work and spoil it but still this is some kinda record of it I guess.
A quick portrait of, man of the moment, Chuka Umunna.
I picked up a pad of Vellum paper this morning. Something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. It’s really nice to work on directly and quickly in ink. The surface is great to push the ink around on and keep things loose.
Some early sketches for a new project.
